Madagascar II – Hollywood, Animation

Quite a fun movie. The movie starts with alex and friend planning to leave Madagascar with the help of bandit Penguins.

Unfortunately they crash land in Africa, where Alex got to meet his father. Rest is a fun filled story of Monkey, Penguin and Alex and his friends.

the old lady and Penguin boss is the ultimate funny guys, good fun to watch with family

2.5 for story 3.5 for animation and 3 for overall fun.

Dostana - Bollywood

Another comedy from Karan Johar.
A sex comedy about two guys without a home. When they finally got a home to live, it came with a string attached,  "Only babe allowed". The nosy aunt seems to be too protective about her niece and will not let any guy live in the fantastic penthouse.

So here we are; guys who declare themselves as gay to get the house. Things look great until the niece turn up to be a very hot and sexy girl.

Both guys fall for the babe while otherwise pretending to be gay. Later comes more slapstick stuff and another angle to this love triangle, the girls boss.

the story is missing, there is lots of comedy and absolutely nothing serious.
1.5 for acting, 2 for cinematography, 2.5 for entertainment and 2 for story.

Just Like Heaven - Hollywood

A nice light-hearted comedy with a little touch of Fantasy.
Story revolve around a lonely landscape Architect, who rent an apartment only to find a living ghost in it.

He fall in love with this lady who refuse to believe that she died. Further investigation lead him to truth, that she Elizabeth is comatose in the same hospital where she used to work as doctor. The movie ends with Elizabeth waking up again and finally both finding each other as true love.

There was lots of emotion and a truly different storyline. As usual the story was not too demanding and hence acting was just okay.

3 for a very different storyline, 3 for overall entertainment, 2 for acting and 2.5 for cinematography.

Slumdog Millionaire

A interesting bollywood style movie. Performance was okay, cinematography was fine and dramatization was okay. The story remind me of pay cheque. The story was best part.

I loved all of it. A good package. I did not feel offended by what was shown. A slum is a slum and India do have lot of them. Remember the movie is about a slum dweller who  became millionaire because his life taught him all the answers.

2 for acting, 2 for cinematography, 3 for entertainment and 4 for story. and no I do not think the music was great, it was not the greatest work of A R Rahman.

the accidental husband

very normal movie and very confusing definition of love., though enjoyable.

being a big fan of Uma, I can be baised on that last part. Story of a woman who had grudges with her dad and that transform her into play-safe kind of girl when it comes to love.

She finally had a patchup with her dad and marry a guy who she love.

2 for story line, 1.5 for story, 2 for acting (no scope) and 1.75 for entertainment.

The Dark Knight - Hollywood

From batman series comes another movie which is quite dark.

It is not like bollywood movie in which everything ends well. It is a try to picturize true evil. Well job done here.

Being in telecom technology I was quite mesmerized by the interesting use of mobile-phone.

Anyway Heath, fair better than Jack and did the best work of his career. I am sure he died as a happy man. I sometime think of such futuristic super killer genetically design for just murdering without remorse with empathy and without feeling of achievement.

In the end I am not sure whether joker won or lose, he did left a mark.

3 for story, 3.5 for cinematography and 4 for acting, 3.5 for overall entertainment.

Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona - Hollywood

A interesting movie to watch.
I really like the narrative tales and this was nice to hear. The acting was quite mediocre for Scarlet and Rebecca, however Penelope and Javier did a great job.
I am not sure though what director want to convey. Scarlet is confused American who starts thinking that European way gives her ultimate freedom.

Javier plays the role of Juan who is a devastated artiste. He saw the two American girls who have came on a holiday trip to Barcelona, and offered to make love with both of them together.

The story unfold into Juan partially achieving his goal (made love with both, but not on a threesome), Vicky getting screwed big time in love and otherwise too, and Christina almost getting screwed again.
It is a confusing story of Europe as seen thorough the eye of tourists.

2 for story line, 3 for cinematography, 3.5 for acting and 2.5 for entertainment.
